The Sims 3 Now Coming to Consoles

One of the most popular PC games of recent years is now franchising to consoles.

The game giant Electronic Arts earlier this year announced that Sims 3 will be available on Xbox, Wii, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS this autumn. The latest version of the game will also be available for PC, but will have added features for the different game consoles.

For those who chose to play the game on an Xbox or PlayStation 3 will have the option of logging in to an EA based network where players can access and download user-created content, for players preferring to play the game on a Wii there will be a new beach town - exclusive to the Wii.
The new game still has the originally features of directing your Sim character through daily life, but it also offers new and better animations. The makers have also introduced a new element with the challenges. The challenges are console-specific and can be anything from learning a certain skill to touring landmarks.

Once you have completed a challenge you earn points, these points can then be used to buy access to garden furniture, karma powers or new work outfits.

Unfortunately not all changes have been positive ones.
With transferring the game on to consoles this new version lacks some of the PC counterparts visual fidelity, loading times between different menus and options has also gotten longer on the console game, these pauses hinders Sims 3 from feeling as effortlessly seem free as it potentially could. Over all Sims 3 for consoles is a good alternative for you who prefer playing on a gaming console to a PC. There are also enough original features are still intact on the console version to satisfy the die hard Sims fans from the PC counterpart.
